The Walpole Island Heritage Centre through its Natural Heritage Program is working to create awareness of the many species of plants and animals found on Walpole Island that are considered endangered, threatened or of special concern. We are attempting to identify and deal with pressures on the natural areas of Walpole Island in cooperation with other Walpole Island First Nation administrative departments, programs, landholders and with the support of various groups and agencies. It is our objective to encourage the protection of out natural environment for generations to come.
