The Walpole Island Heritage Centre and its Natural Heritage Program are progressing stewardship on the Walpole Island First Nation through habitat securement and restoration, community outreach, strategic planning, species re-assessments and enhancing GIS capacity.
With the support of the federal Habitat Stewardship Program for Species At Risk we have initiated and completed a number of activities, which include:
